“I’m Afraid”…

What happens when we admit we are afraid? What happens when we are small child and say to our parents “I’m afraid!!” Even really bad parents will attempt to comfort their child. Really good parents will not only comfort their child they will explain to them their fear is unfounded – they’re afraid of something that doesn’t exist – there is no monster under the bed, there is no monster hiding in the closet.

1. “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matt 4:19)
2. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matt 11:28)
3. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. (John 6:37)
4. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21).
5. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. (John 14:14)
6. Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you. (John 16:22)
7. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. (John 16:7)

This is exactly what Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit do for the parents, if they let Him into their heart. The devil is always talking and if we simply turn to our Father and ask Him to drive the devil out of our mind, out of our heart, out of our soul and give us the strength to believe, God will do exactly what has been ask. We are in fact seeking Him first and the door just opened. The Kingdom of Heaven, the Kingdom of God is now with us. We just admitted, confessed, we are filled with fear. What is that fear? Failure, honesty, rejection, reputation, sinful life, losing something? These would cover a lot of what we fear. Honesty should be first, because we will lie to ourselves (God) all day long and believe we are getting away with something when in fact Jesus is crying. Our Father is hurt to the core because we couldn’t bring something to Him and ask His guidance.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:6-7 NKJB

Jesus Himself makes it very clear that He will remove the fear, He has already won the battle, won the war and we are to share the victory with the world. Why do we not believe this and live in this manner?

“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; or You loved Me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” ~John 17:24-26 NKJB

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
